A division is an organizational structure of Circle K International. It is a collection of clubs in one geographic location within a state. Typically, there are as few as two clubs in a division and as many as eight or nine. Divisions within a district are similarly sized, but this may not always be the case.
Not every district is separated by districts: some districts choose to speak directly to clubs through a club representative system and, thus, do not have a division structure.
Division Leadership[]
A division is represented and advised by a Lieutenant Governor, who serves on the District Level. A Lieutenant Governor is not only a voice for clubs on the district level, but is also there to advise and remind clubs of district or international information. Therefore, a Lieutenant Governor encompasses many roles in both leading and representing his or her division.
Lieuteant Governors often communicate most directly with club presidents and club board. Lieutentnat Governors may also often visit clubs and speak to the general membership of that club.
Divisionals / Division Council Meetings[]
Divisionals or Division Council Meetings (DCMs) are meetings of clubs within that division. These are typically open to all members of the clubs within that division, and officers are reccomended (or required) to attend. During these meetings, divisions will discuss attendance at district events, division events and projects and other inter-division related activities.
Divisionals usually have an agenda component, a social component and a service project component. The organization of a divisional is at the discretion of the Lieutenant Governor presiding over that division.
Unique aspects of a division[]
Some divisions will have an entire division board, including a division executive assistant (encompassing the vice president role), a division secretary, a division treasurer and various committee chairs. This mimics the club structure and the district structure within Circle K Internaitonal. While this does happen, it is not common.
